Today I chat with BRUNA Capozzoli & DIOGO Verissimo from On the Edge Conservation about their strategy for driving change in conservation by employing a three-pronged approach with modern day storytelling techniques, grounded in science, to promote biodiversity and increase positive sentiment for the natural world while supporting conservation efforts that inform their storytelling activities.

Hi Hayley, I enjoyed discovering your podcast thanks to a LinkedIn post featuring an ex colleague of mine, Diogo Verissimo. I was very interested to learn about On The Edge and their particular use of storytelling. I myself am a conservation biologist and also author – illustrator of educational graphic novels designed to raise awareness about critical environmental issues (current focus being climate change), while also offering an entertaining story full of humour and adventure. I am building relationships with other authors who in different ways write ‘eco fiction’ and I consider this approach extremely pertinent.
In this light I wondered how your podcast works, and whether you have a system for selecting who to interview.
I already have a publicist who gets me on podcasts and blogs within the literary world, but given the nature of my books I would love to also get a chance to talk about the value of using eco fiction, cartoons and books like graphic novels as tools for conservation education and awareness.
I do hope I’m not overstepping the line in contacting you like this. If you’d like to know more I’d love to hear from you.
Thanks,
